Join the Wings Board of Directors
Wings for Children and Families is seeking Letters of Interest from individuals interested in serving on our Board of Directors or advisory committee.
For more than 30 years, Wings has partnered with children, families, providers, and communities to help children receive the services and supports they need while remaining connected to their families and communities.
Who We Are Looking For
We especially encourage interest from parents, caregivers, and family members who have lived experience navigating services and supports for their own children. The family voice has been part of Wings since our beginning, and we believe that perspective is invaluable in guiding our organization.
Nonprofit Board members provide governance, leadership, and oversight to help ensure the organization remains strong and fulfills its mission. Board members help establish policies and strategic direction, oversee the organization’s financial health, support and evaluate the Executive Director, and serve as ambassadors for the organization in the community. They bring their individual experiences, perspectives, and expertise to the table while keeping the mission and the people the organization serves at the center of their decisions.
New to Wings — Our Advisory Committee
Wings is excited to establish a new Advisory Committee that will bring additional voices, perspectives, and lived experience into our organization. Unlike our governing Board of Directors, Advisory Committee members will not have legal or financial oversight responsibilities. Instead, they will serve as a resource to Wings leadership and our Board by sharing ideas, offering feedback, identifying community needs, and helping us stay connected to the experiences of children and families across Maine. We especially welcome parents and caregivers with lived experience, community partners, providers, and others who believe in the mission and vision of Wings and want to help strengthen our work.
We are also interested in individuals who can bring knowledge, experience, or perspective in areas such as:
- Public relations, communications, marketing, or advertising
- Finance, accounting, banking, or business
- Nonprofit or other Board of Directors experience
- Community leadership and connections
- Fundraising and development
- Children’s behavioral health, education, healthcare, or human services
- Advocacy and systems change
Board members do not need to be experts in these areas. Most importantly, we are looking for individuals who believe in our mission and vision, care about children and families, and are willing to contribute their time, perspective, and experience to help Wings remain strong into the future.
Our Mission
Wings is a nonprofit organization that partners with parents and providers to deliver quality case management services using the Wraparound planning process, provides training to improve the quality of care, and maintains a strong community presence as a change agent on behalf of children and families.

Our vision is to maintain an unwavering commitment to providing the highest level of Wraparound services for children and families in Maine; to continually respond to the changing needs of families and communities; and to maintain a strong, skilled organization and a high-performing nonprofit Board of Directors that can help lead Wings into the future.
